Speaker Information
Dr. Paula Gordon, OC, OBC, MD, FRCPC, FSBI, Clinical Professor, University of British Columbia. Dr. Gordon is a Clinical Professor of Radiology at the University of British Columbia and has been practicing breast radiology for 40 years. Her 1995 research was the first to show that ultrasound could detect cancers missed on mammograms, leading to a paradigm shift in screening women with dense breasts — an approach now adopted across Canada, the USA, and internationally. Her mission is to ensure breast cancers are detected early, providing women with more treatment options, less aggressive therapies, and to reduce breast cancer mortality.
