Speaker Information

Dr. Carme Uribe received her PhD from the University of Barcelona, where she investigated the cerebral correlates of cognitive impairment in Parkinson’s disease. Her doctoral research employed structural and functional MRI to identify homogeneous patterns of brain atrophy and applied machine learning techniques to differentiate between forms of parkinsonism. She subsequently completed her postdoctoral training in Dr. Antonio Strafella’s laboratory at CAMH, where she developed expertise in molecular imaging markers of Parkinson’s disease and atypical parkinsonism, with a focus on the in vivo assessment of synaptic density and tau deposition. She currently works in the Methodology Department at the Brain Health Imaging Centre at CAMH, where her research centers on the evaluation of noninvasive PET imaging methods and their integration with MRI.
