Jeff Frimeth, M.Sc., MCCPM, CIIP, MRSO (MRSC™), MRSE (MRSC™), CDIP, President and Chief Medical Physicist, JF Medical Physics presents on What MRI Technologists Should Know: New Information in the ACR Manual on MR Safety 2024. This presentation will not go into any depth on the fundamentals of MR safety and potential risks in the MR environment, however, will discuss the ACR's recommendations on the management of these risks. MR technologists will be able to understand the new features within the 2024 manual so that they can implement these in their clinical practice. will discuss the ACR's recommendations on the management of these risks. Tobias Gilk, MRSO, MRSE, Founder, Gilk Radiology Consultants presents on Remote MR Scanning: Who is Minding the Store?Remote MR Scanning: Who is Minding the Store? Remote MR Scanning: Who is Minding the Store? This presentation will confront the existential challenges presented by remote MR scanning, and address challenges to workflow and safety. From this presentation attendees will: understand the four different 'flavors' of remote scanning, and how most of them are inconsequential for safety and operations; understand the 'lynchpin' nature of the historic role of the MR technologist in safety & operations (and how that may not be the only way); understand that new structures and standards are being developed to establish performance criteria for safety and operations, and when to expect them.

Dr. Shengwen Deng, Ph.D, MBBS, Medical Physicist, University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center presents on Clinical Application and Implementation of MR Relaxometry. The presentation will allow attendees to understand the clinical utility of MR relaxometry, explore the latest advancements ready for clinical use, discuss practical implementation strategies and review clinical cases and considerations for technologists.

Dr. Bernd Wintersperger, Director of MRI/Professor of Radiology, University Health Network presents on Cardiac MR Imaging - Why and How. This presentation will cover the essential aspects of the most common indications for Cardiac MRI and highlight how reporting Radiologists analyze respective data sets. While exams may be somewhat extensive, high-quality Cardiac MRI can be performed efficiently with today's modern technologies. At the end of this presentation, participants will understand the most common clinical indications for Cardiac MRI; understand how Radiologists analyze Cardiac MRI exams; know the basics of how to perform Cardiac MRI efficiently at high quality.

Kellye Mantooth, RT(R)(MR), MRSO(MRSC), MRSE(MRSC), Manager MR Safety Training and Education, Metrasens presents on Benefits of Ferromagnetic Detection for MRI and how to Effectively Implement It. Participants will: understand why ferromagnetic detection is beneficial for MRI departments; learn the different types of ferromagnetic detection; learn the different formats of ferromagnetic detection; understand when to apply each format of FMD for the most effective outcome; understand the capabilities and limitations of each format of FMD; learn how to implement FMD effectively and how to address alarm fatigue.
