Speaker Information

Merri Bremer, EdD, RN, ACS, RDCS, Program Director, QI and Education Coordinator, Mayo Clinic Echocardiography Laboratory presents on Artificial Intelligence In Echocardiography: Harnessing Potential, Avoiding Pitfalls. With over 35 years of experience in echocardiography, Dr. Bremer explores the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) in echocardiography and cardiac sonography education, discussing both the benefits and pitfalls of AI integration.

Dr. Filipe Cirne, MD, MSc, Assistant Professor, McMaster University presents on Stress Echocardiography for Non-Ischemic Conditions. Dr. Cirne discusses the application of stress echocardiography in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, diastolic function, valvular heart disease, and pulmonary hypertension.

Dr. Peggy DeJong, MD, MMEd, FRCPC, FCCS, Associate Professor, Queen’s University and Medical Director, Echo Lab at Kingston Health Sciences Centre presents on Excitement in the Stress Echo Lab: High Risk Findings and Emergencies. Dr. DeJong reviews stress echo accreditation standards, high-risk findings, and the critical role of communication among healthcare professionals during stress echocardiography.

Dr. Christopher Lee, MD, Assistant Professor of Medicine, University of California, San Francisco presents on Overview of Strain Echocardiography. Dr. Lee explores the principles, clinical indications, and diagnostic value of strain imaging while identifying its limitations and pitfalls in cardiac diagnostics.

Renato Morcerf, ACS, RDCS, FASE, Advanced Cardiac Sonographer, KMH Cardiology Centres presents on Diastolic Function - Technical Assessment Updates. Renato provides an in-depth look at the latest guidelines and technologies for diastology, highlighting how to enhance measurement precision and interpret findings effectively.

Madeline Jankowski, RDCS, ACS, Clinical Specialist, Agitated Solutions, LLC; Robert Stewart, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine, Dalhousie University; Adrien Boutin, RVT, MSc, Team Leader Echo/Vascular/ECG, St. Michael’s Hospital; and Martin Campeau, Cardiovascular Innovation Specialist at ASI present on Echoes of Progress: Making Cardiac Bubble Studies More Accessible Through Smarter Tools and Workflows. This collaborative session discusses challenges in conducting cardiac bubble studies and explores how smart tools and workflows, such as the Orbis Microbubble Generator, can streamline and expand access to these procedures.
